Plastikman - Consumed (1998)

Richie Hawtin works under the name of Plastikman and it's a good producer that creates minimal music with subtle bass touches, and that's nice for some situations when you don't want to listen to ambient music but you want some soft beats and clicks on your headphones. Very recommended at night, it can even get creepy at times, or just use it as study music. Are you ready to be [ CONSUMED. ]

The Future Sound of London - Lifeforms (1994)

This double album features a good mix of techno/IDM and ambient. It's comparable to Global Communication's 76:14 or Aphex Twin's old ambient works but Lifeforms adds a lot of field recordings like rain and lots of water effects that creates a natural atmosphere. Fans of "old" electronica should know this duo already. Very organic and cohesive but again, it's not for impatient people.

Burial - Burial (2006)

Burial's debut album is a clear example of great electronic music with garage beats and ambient passages that are definitely NOT fillers (!) and it's an snack to his following masterwork, Untrue. This kind of music IS THE NIGHT.

I'm not a fan of dubstep, but this is one of the best albums I've ever head in my life, not only in the electronic list of the best ones but in my overall musical knowledge. Emotional, dark, addictive, unbeatable.. simply perfect. Just wanted to express my love for this modern masterpiece. Thanks a lot, anonymous person.

Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons (2002)

Anti-depressive shit. I must say, this is one of the few "happy albums" that I actually enjoy and make me happy. The use of the samples is just great and so catchy... recommendation? blast this shit in your car and people will jump with you and make a party and you'll ride into the unknown planet of rainbows and amphetamines. This is from the same people that created music for The Sims 2 and stuff like that.

Llorca - New Comer (2001)

Another refreshing album with sexy jazzy beats made by a french producer called Ludovic Llorca. You know that french people are very passionate, and this is the music they use when they get really horny (if you have a doubt about it, just look at the cover!). Are you looking for a decent lounge album? Llorca delivers.

Scorn - Gyral (2005)

Mick Harris was a member of Napalm Death once. Yeah, wtf dude? but one day he decided to make dark and trippy music, and here it's one of his darkest works, Gyral. Nice basslines and layers, this man is better with his knobs than playing the bass with his grindcore friends. This project ended last month, for my surprise, so you need this one more than never. Well, not really. Just get it if you want a creepy atmosphere in your headphones for one hour.

Trentemøller - The Last Resort (2006)

Heading from Denmark, Anders Trentemøller is the producer who blends minimal techno and other cool atmospheric and cold sounds in The Last Resort, his debut album. This genre is not really my cup of tea, but Anders knows how to keep you listening to his music without making you bored. The best parts of this release are the minimal clicks and the bass, and yep, it's entirely instrumental, so more credit to him! Oh yeah, and the artwork is pretty nice.

Lustmord - The Place Where the Black Stars Hang (1994)

The correct way to listen to Lustmord is -obviously- at night, and turning off all the lights, then proceed to listen to one of his works with your eyes closed and letting the drones and sonic landscapes drift you into a supermassive black hole where even Lustmord couldn't escape. This is his most minimalistic work and maybe the deepest experience that this cool bald guy has to offer, but it's certainly not for everyone. Also, it's on HQ audio, what else do you want?

Favorite track: Actually, it's a single ambient track.
